When Does Being Tired All The Time Become A Problem?
What if this extreme fatigue is an actual disorder that is greatly affecting their quality of life?
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) also known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) and Systemic Exertion Intolerance Disease (SEID) commonly effects females in their young adulthood and middle age. Sometimes there are not any physical findings for CFS. We do not know exactly where CFS comes from but the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has classified CFS by four or more of these associated symptoms:
- Impaired memory or focus
- Sore throat
- Tender lymph nodes
- Muscle pain
- Joint pains
- New headaches
- Unrefreshing sleep
- Post-exercise tiredness and weakness

How can Chronic Fatigue Syndrome be helped?
CFS is generally treated with antidepressants and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs which do not go to the source of the problem. Those type of relief care mask all of the symptoms without correcting the actual health concern.
Recent research published in the Journal of Upper Cervical Chiropractic Research saw significant quality of life improvements in patients with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome following upper cervical chiropractic care. They found that these patients also had an increase in quality of sleep. A misalignment located in this area of neck puts pressure on the brain stem which could create all of the associated symptoms with CFS.
