• Vertigo – This is feeling that a person is moving or things are spinning when no actual movement is taking place. Usually the underlying issue is either a problem with the inner ear or with the vestibulocochlear nerve that transmits information to the brain about the body’s location in space.
• Anxiety – While technically not an actual form of dizziness, some people describe the feelings of fear and anxiety as vertigo (for example, when a person looks down from a height and becomes immediately uncomfortable).
• Disequilibrium – This is basically the feeling of being unbalanced. It can be difficult to walk and can easily result in falls.
